T-Mobile to Buy Ryan Reynolds' Mint Mobile
T-Mobile on Wednesday announced its plans to acquire Ka’ena Corporation, which owns Mint Mobile, Ultra Mobile, and Plum.
This $1.35 billion deal will give T-Mobile another prepaid wireless brand and international calling capabilities.
Mint Mobile began in 2016 and has become increasingly popular in recent years as consumers look for cheaper alternatives.
The company offers premium wireless plans starting at just $15 per month, and an unlimited plan for only $30 per month.
T-Mobile has announced that Mint's pricing will remain unchanged after the acquisition.
Mr. Reynolds said he was most excited that T-Mobile could scale Mint to reach more people.
Mr. Reynolds will continue in his creative role for the brand.
The acquisition is expected to be finalized later this year.
